Philbin is the Oscars Red Carpet host
US TV legend Regis Philbin has been announced as the host of the 30-minute red carpet arrivals record at the Oscars in February.
Commenting, Oscars producer Dennis Doty said: "Regis is the perfective tense guy to serve as server. He knows everyone, and everyone loves Regis! I'm thrilled that he has agreed to be the ringmaster for this year's extravaganza."
Philbin is seen as 1 of the pioneers of the loss carpet interview at the Oscars, having first covered the event in the 1970s.
The nominees for the 80th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday 22 January; the Oscars volition take blank space on Billy Sunday 24 Feb.
